This project was located in the beautiful Toronto Beaches neighbourhood and was the result of a strong partnership between one of our clients and ourselves. Spanning 10,000 square feet, the building consisted of 3,000 square feet of residential components and 7,000 square feet of commercial use space. All the commercial aspects faced Queen Street with immediate access to a major street, while the residential was attached at the back, facing Lake Ontario. Originally two semi-residential buildings, we transformed them into a mixed-use building, investing 14 months from start to finish. The build-out entailed transforming the existing semis and adding two floors above, doing a complete underpinning for the existing basement, and a four-story brand-new addition at the back. Aesthetically, the creative use of custom millwork complemented the space and reflected a luxurious vibe. Detailed attention was paid to building computer terminals and a server for the commercial component. We had to plan and follow a careful project management process to ensure the work was completed in a safe and productive manner due to its access from Queen Street.
